David

I am lost without you and miss you every day.  Love Gerda xx

3rd June

My Darling David, I tried and tried to find these photographs I took of you, with your good friend Arthur Smith, at the Berwick St John Country Fayre in September 2022 for your order of service, without success.  After coming over to Milston, to lay fresh flowers for you, I came home and found them!  I am no photographer but I am really pleased with how they came out.

You always enjoyed catching up with Arthur and reminiscing about your Wiltshire Council days.  It was always lovely listening to both of you and your escapades.  I am not sure how either of you managed to get any work done!
This day was very special because being David, you just clambered into the drivers seat and sat chatting to Arthur (even though your knees were squashed into the steering wheel!)  I am so glad I grabbed the camera!

This was the last event we would attend.

I hope you like the fresh flowers including some of my white climbing rose from home.  I had to do a little hedgerow pot for you, which includes elderflower.

The small bowl from your birthday had finished, therefore, I had to come back later with a new pot.  I hope it is surviving the hot weather.  Unfortuantely, I am too far away to 'pop in' and water it.  I hope Tom forgives me when he grass cuts and strims, having pots on your grave.

As always, I couldn't leave without placing fresh flowers on your Parents grave.  I hope they like them.

17th May 2023

Happy birthday in Heaven my Darling.  Thank you for being mine and the beautiful memories we shared.  You were taken too early from me and nobody will ever know how much I miss you each day.

As you rest peacefully in heaven, I wish you the best birthday my love.

I hope you like the fresh flowers for your birthday and of course the little pot of lily of the valley and forget me not from my garden (a cutting from yours!).  The small bowl, as you always liked to gift me one for my birthday.  Of course, as always, I couldn't leave without placing fresh flowers on your Parents grave.  I hope they like them, the carnations normally flower the next day.

I know you are now safe and I will see you soon.

With all my love forever Gerda

Hullo, found your site when looking for GDSF info. I was wondering if you had any information regarding engines travelling to the GDSF. I read engines will be raising money for cancer on there journey but I cannot find any info regarding route and timings. Thanks
